You're a wizard, and there's another magical artifact at the top of a long, long climb. You've prepared your spells, and the only thing that can stop you is the drop.

Scale the platforms and the red tile at the end of each level! The game keeps track of your number of deaths, number of levels, and time taken to complete each level.

No engine used, Out of the Pit was made entirely in TypeScript from nothing.

A game by evan-kj and GoldenFlameZero for the GMTK Game Jam 2024. This was evan-kj's third game jam, and GoldenFlameZero's first.

Controls

  • WASD - Move
  • Space - Jump
  • 1, 3 - Cycle between active spells
  • Q - Cast Spell
    • Warp makes you move incredibly fast on your next movement.
    • Ice block places a block roughly in the direction you're facing. If an ice cube is hit again, it vanishes.
    • Slow Time slows time as long as you hold Q.
  • R - Flip Camera
